Become a Growing Hope Champion and help us reach more families across the UK.
Championing Growing Hope can be done through volunteering your time in our national office, local clinics or carrying out local sponsored events.
Being a Growing Hope Champion not only brings more hope to our families across the UK, it can also help you develop skills in a wide range of areas, as well as adding to your CV.

When Dreams Change is a four week course for parents or carers of children with additional needs about what happens when your hopes and dreams change because of your children’s needs. Talking through the grief cycle, how to fill up your own cup and who is in your support system. The Siblings Group is a seven week course for primary school aged children to have the opportunity to share their feelings and talk about their experiences of having a sibling with additional needs. It has a counselling and occupational therapy basis and uses puppets as well as other creative methods to help siblings connect with each other and process some of their shared experiences. These courses can be carried out anywhere in the UK, and can serve your local community even before there is a Growing Hope clinic in your area.
Our facilitator training has a lot of behind the scenes tasks. Become a When Dreams Change or Siblings Champion to help spread the word in your local area about the courses, help with communications before and after the courses, or help organise resources around the training days.
Want to gain more therapy experience whilst supporting Growing Hope families? Clinic Assistants will help therapists within their sessions, being an extra pair of hands and helping to set up or pack down. They could also help with the clinics resources and some general clinic administration.
Growing Hope is reaching more families all the time. We need someone who will be able to help keep the clinic database orderly, following through referral processes, and checking in with families waiting for support.
Help our clinics reach more families in their local area as a fundraising champion, writing grant applications as well as looking at other opportunities of fundraising. This is a great opportunity to join a group of like-minded people to develop research, writing and process skills. You don’t need to have experience in fundraising, as we provide training.
Use your unique skills to join with a group of like-minded individuals to help plan and carry out successful community events to help reach more families as well as fundraising to secure the future development of the charity’s work. Our priority each year is the Spring Event and this provides opportunities for all different levels of involvement including managing the event or volunteering a couple hours on the night.
Interested in developing your communications skills? This would involve helping to source the stories of the families we work with, final checking some of our key documents, assisting with general enquiry phone calls/emails etc.
As Growing Hope grows, we need someone who can help with our IT systems. This could involve setting up new staff/volunteers, carry out file mapping or working with our databases.
Want to volunteer your time flexibly and within your own community? We need Growing Hope Champions who can grow our network within work places, schools, churches, and other community settings. You could be linking school families in with clinics/courses, encouraging your work place to sponsor us as their charity of the year or speaking at your local church to encourage them to become a place where everyone is seen, heard and can belong.
Help us to grow hope across more of the UK.
